John Andrew Hatcher, Jr.
John Andrew Hatcher, Jr. retired from the bench after serving three elected terms as Chancery Court Judge of the First District of Mississippi. He is now Senior Counsel to the firm, bringing over 45 years of experience and discernment to the Alternative Dispute Resolution practice.
John was elected as Chancery Judge serving Alcorn, Tishomingo, Prentiss, Lee, Union, Pontotoc, Monroe and Itawamba counties in 2007 and served until 2018.
A native of Sunflower County, John has been a resident of Booneville, Mississippi, since 1973. After graduating from Delta State in 1969 with a major in History and a minor in Political Science and Education, John graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Law in December of 1972 with his Juris Doctorate. John began the general practice of law in Booneville in 1973, where he also taught a paralegal program at Northeast Mississippi Community College.
John Hatcher is a lifelong public servant. John’s career includes being a four-time elected County Prosecutor, City Prosecutor, and City Attorney for various municipalities before being elected to the bench. He currently serves as a Municipal Judge for Farmington, Mississippi and is a Mississippi Bar Certified Mediator.
John is admitted to practice in all Mississippi state courts, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He is also a member of the Prentiss County Bar Association, the Mississippi Bar, and the American Bar Association.
